Financial Anxiety? Say No More! Your 2024 Financial New Year’s Resolution

Are you part of the nearly 50% of Americans making a 2024 financial New Year’s Resolution?

Here’s the thing – what you may be choosing as your financial New Year’s Resolution may not be what will actually improve your finances this year.

What if Your Strategy is Causing Your Financial Anxiety?

If I had to guess, part (or all) of your financial New Year’s Resolution may include:

🔹Using your credit card more often to get more cash back

🔹Consolidating debt so you can see and feel the extra money in your account

🔹Refinancing debt to lower the interest rate and monthly payment

And these make sense, because they are easy, we-can-agree-this-needs-to-be-done-let’s-get-the-box-checked-and-move-on resolutions.

Each of you feel amazing, because starting that money was uncomfortable.

And you both finally looked at your money together.

Now each of you may be thinking your spouse finally sees your financial situation the way you do, and your financial anxiety is relieved, so you both know that you are on the right path for 2024.

Are you though?

I’m here to tell you – you are not.

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐜𝐤.

And the sign you may be looking for is that you are making the same money New Year’s Resolutions year after year.

It makes total sense.

You both are looking at solving your financial challenges with the information that you each currently have.

Checking the boxes you both agree on.

financial anxiety and stress

The challenges ignored may look like:

🔹One of you seeing the budget as following it to a T is the only thing that keeps you sane while your spouse is opening up credit cards you don’t know about because it’s easier than starting the “conversation” (aka 4 day long money fight) to change the budget by $5.72.

🔹One of you was raised in a household where you always had enough money – so let’s live a little – while the other experienced several moves to avoid eviction and freaks out if savings doesn’t have at least a year worth of expenses it in

One of you experienced financial trauma that caused your financial anxiety in a past relationship and vowed to yourself to never go through 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 again – and you aren’t ready to tell your partner about it.  So, while you can understand why your partner is upset, they have no clue – and keep bringing up your most painful topic without realizing it.

No wonder major progress hasn’t been made on your financial anxiety with past money New Year’s Resolutions – you each have a money point of view that is 100% valid and makes absolutely no sense to your partner.

Setting a New Year’s Resolution to solve these challenges is the one that your relationship needs.

And I am the perfect person to help you with that.

My spouse and I are one of the couples that lived out a situation similar to the above.

Until we realized (after almost a decade) that what we were doing was not working.

It took a different approach than anything we read about.

And when we shifted our approach, we accomplished the following in less than 6 years while never making six-figures.

🎉Paid off all consumer debt

🎉Cash flowed nearly $50K in unexpected expenses

🎉Fully funded our emergency fund

🎉Increased retirement savings

🎉Paid off our house

𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠.

We changed jobs.

Became more present with our kids.

Learned how to start conversations with each other that allowed for patience and grace.

And from that, my Agree and Achieve coaching method was born.

It’s a 6-month experience for couples that can talk about anything – except money – experience less stress in their relationship while having more money in the bank.

You both will

🔹Go from wondering if finances will be the thing that may end your relationship to seeing hope that working on your finances together is the first step to becoming an unstoppable team

🔹Uncover the patterns that are causing you to question your partner’s financial decisions  to seeing how their perspective benefits both of you

🔹See your marriage go from a source of stress to living your dream reality – with more money than either of you pictured.

Imagine New Year’s Day 2025 being the day you realize that a new set of financial resolutions are required.
